My name is Nasrin and I had the opportunity to join an interesting project to characterize the marine biodiversity inhabiting coastal areas in Agder.
Beside its relevance for understanding the life in the ocean and the preservation of the marine ecosystem, the knowledge generated in the project can help the further development of the blue economy in the region.
This experience has been exceptionally rewarding and has significantly broadened my understanding and expertise in environmental DNA research and laboratory techniques. Throughout the project, I gained hands-on experience in the meticulous processes involved in eDNA extraction, from the initial filtration of water samples to the careful analysis of the genetic material.
I am very grateful to Assoc. Prof. Enrique Blanco Gonzalez for his guidance navigating the challenges of the project. And to UiA for its commitment to fostering research and academic growth pivotal in my educational journey.
